Education Key to Preventing Supplement Industry Crises

Whether they are training supplement manufacturers on how to comply with good manufacturing practices (GMPs), explaining to the media how supplements (indeed!) are regulated, or meeting with researchers to explore better clinical study techniques for nutritional ingredients, the staff at the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) is doing what it does best: educating. CRN President and CEO Steve Mister spoke with Nutrition Business Journal’s Carla Ooyen during the 2010 NBJ Summit about the positive impact of the trade association’s many education efforts. Said Mister, “When things go well, and there aren’t any crisis events—that is how we know our education is working.”
