First Bite: Hot tea

First Bite: Hot teas reviewedBy Kelsey Blackwell | Produced by Gabriel Ratliff

You don’t have to be British to enjoy a good cuppa tea. Americans are increasingly settling in for a warm mug as they connect weight loss and antioxidant properties with a good leafy brew. A fragrant cup is also a great way to take a break from the day. Natural Foods Merchandiser’s Senior Editor Kelsey Blackwell suggests a few new favorites to try.

  • Choice Rooibos Chai
  • Higher Living Very Berry
  • Numi Coconut Pu-erh

Local should be the word, the only US Grown and Manufactured Tea company is the Charleston Tea Plantation.

I like that you touched on puerh being a good substitute for those of us who go off coffee. I wanted to let you know that the Numi Jasmine Puerh is just as decadent. Sweet aroma and mild flavor without missing out entirely on the caffeine. Looking forward to more of your reviews! I'd love to hear your review of their new line of savory teas.
