Was I watching a video about the Fancy Foods Show? Two food editors for popular natural products industry publications attend the NATURAL Products Expo and they can not find ONE new and/or interesting USDA certified organic product to talk about and share? The products the ladies liked may be interesting and have ingredients that they can pronounce, but they did not mention that the products or their ingredients were organic! Isn't the natural products industry supposed to support organic agriculture and represent environmental stewardship that demonstrates greater care about the welfare of the planet, people and wildlife than the conventional grocery industry? Foods containing "natural" ingredients, as opposed to certified organic ingredients, just don't don't carry the same weight of an environmental message as certified organic foods do. So folks, where is the organic leadership?
Thanks for the comments! You're right, it would have been good to mention organics with these products (sorry, we were going fast...). For the record: Certified organic products include Orgain and Rhythm Superfoods kale chips; items made with organic ingredients include Baobab powder, Zukay juices, and Hail Merry snacks. (The others use sustainably sourced ingredients, too.)
So after reading more about Orgain for kids, I see that it has Carrageenan in it. Supposedly caused cancer in lab animals. The Doctor that made this drink was a cancer survivor. Is this true?
