If consuming chemicals wasn't enough, take some of these stats into consideration when expounding the virtues of organic, especially in the case of the 25 unhealthiest conventional foods, listed below.
Sure, I get all the high fat, high sugar, 'empty calorie' popular foods on your TOP 25 list, but come on, pure simple milk is tucked in there too? Now that's a stretch... perhaps some good 'old fashioned' chocolate milk loaded with High Fructose Corn Syrup might qualify, but Milk?? I don't think so.
You really should inform yourself more before making such a statement.
"Yes, raw, whole, organic milk eliminates concerns like pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, and the effects of homogenization and pasteurization -- but to me, these benefits don't outweigh dairy's potential risks.
From an evolutionary point of view, milk is a strange food for humans. Until 10,000 years ago we didn't domesticate animals and weren't able to drink milk (unless some brave hunter-gather milked a wild tiger or buffalo!).
If you don't believe that, consider this: The majority of humans naturally stop producing significant amounts of lactase - the enzyme needed to properly metabolize lactose, the sugar in milk -- sometime between the ages of two and five. In fact, for most mammals, the normal condition is to stop producing the enzymes needed to properly digest and metabolize milk after they have been weaned.
Our bodies just weren't made to digest milk on a regular basis. Instead, most scientists agree that it's better for us to get calcium, potassium, protein, and fats from other food sources, like whole plant foods -- vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and seaweed."
You've been fooled by our corrupt food industry if you think milk is "healthy"
Informed by what, Science or 'Wishful Thinking'? On a macro-nutrient level, it is well established that milk is an excellent source of high quality proteins and bio-available calcium and other minerals suitable for bone growth and maintenance. Since when did "most scientists" subscribe to a point of view that vegetable sources of calcium were more effective or even capable of delivering the RDI for calcium? Also, since when did public health scientists subscribe to a position that raw milk is more 'healthy' than pasteurized milk?
Please suggest peer-reviewed literature that might enlighten me on this and other topics such as dairy products consumption in America--I wasn't aware that a "majority" were unable to consume these delicious and nutritious products on a regular basis! (No one told my digestive system or all the folks that I hang out with... yes, our lactase delivery systems all seem to be just fine.) Perhaps you should inform those corrupt marketers in the food industry of this simple fact, so they can focus more on paleo foods in the future.
Oh, jeez. You're a Paleo, aren't you? Eat like a caveman, live like a caveman, which isn't long.
Tuna Melt must be really bad since it is listed twice...
I think the point they're making is that conventional milk may be unhealthier than organic.
Nice catch on the double-bad tuna melt!
I'm assuming 'chile' = chili and 'ceasar' = caesar. General point is a good one
The ideal way to consume milk, although hard to find these days, is raw organic.
pasteurization and homogenization wreak havoc on vitamins, minerals and protein naturally occurring in milk, as well as destroying a variety of important immune factors in raw milk. While better than p & h milk on some levels, organic milk suffers even more nutrient damage due the "ultra-pateurizaton", a process that heats organic milk to even higher temperatures than standard milk in order to extend it's shelf life. Nutrition is such a balancing act and there are no absolutes, even with organic.
Moderation is the key
Raw organic milk (boiled at home) is the best . No hormones ,no antibiotics, no pesticides in the grain.
I make my own yogurt and keifer. So easy and taste so great and fresh. I don't eat or drink anything from conventional milk.
And have you seen the size of some of these poor girls breasts...........Hormones from cows milk. Never saw that in the 40's and 50's when fresh milk was delivered to our homes. Cheap crap added to the food is killing You.
What is a hamburger chile? Is that a type of pepper? Is that a hamburger in Chile?
There's an image of a stack of pancakes, but yet is not listed? Are pancakes okay? I'm so confused. This infographic is stressful, makes me want to go get some chicken nuggets and a milkshake.
Why are pesticides listed under Best Foods to buy Organic???
So glad to see that I can continue to eat my pizza, hotdogs and cheesecake, so long as they're organic, and that I can feel good about that. Got to run... my organic ice cream is melting.
