Rochette claims bronze, world's embrace

Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette claimed the bronze medal in the women's figure skating finals.

She also claimed the hearts of Canadians, and of viewers the world over with an inspired performance in the long program, coming just days after the death of her mother. Her score represented her personal best.

"She's just an inspiration; what a heart of gold. She's a true hero," said Teri Fisher, director of sales for Cold Fx, one of Rochette's sponsors.
