Organic Candies were on display at the All Candy Expo in Chicago last week. Organizers featured the “gourmet, premium & organic candies” category, identifying it as the fastest growing segment in the confectionery and snack market. Cadbury’s Green & Blacks organic chocolate brand was recently awarded three prizes by the UK’s Good House Keeping magazine, one of which being the best organic product available in the supermarket. U.S. sales of organic chocolate and candy bars reached $94 million on 45% growth in 2007, according to NBJ, with 2008 sales forecasted at over $100 million.
