Oct. 29 segment cited research on the fruit in the form of InterHealth's Super CitriMax.
The fruit from Southeast Asia, Garcinia cambogia, was featured for its weight-loss benefits Monday, Oct. 29, on “The Dr. Oz Show.” The segment included an interview with Dr. Harry Preuss, who cited research he conducted on the fruit in the form of Super CitriMax®, InterHealth’s proprietary, patented form of Garcinia cambogia bound to calcium and potassium for superior absorption, supplying 60 percent hydroxycitric acid.
The segment also featured Dr. Julie Chen, who discussed the fat-burning properties of the ingredient and that research shows that people “lose three times more weight than diet and exercise alone.” This too is based on the published research by Dr. Pruess, which was published in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism in 2004.
“Dr. Oz has a strong following of loyal viewers who trust his review and judgment of nutritional ingredients,” commented Paul Dijkstra, InterHealth’s CEO.
Super CitriMax can currently be found in supplements such as Metabolife, NOW Foods and in beverage products including FUZE Slenderize® and SOBE Lean®. Super CitriMax is available in two grades—one for beverages and the other for supplements. Because it’s tasteless, colorless, odorless and GRAS, it is easy to formulate into beverages and food products.
