If there’s one social network you definitely want to use while at a trade show, it’s Twitter. Natural Products Expo West is no exception. Thousands of exhibitors will be tweeting real-time from the show, enticing attendees to their booths and promoting giveaways and events.

Here’s how to make the most of social media at the show.

1. Always, always, always use the hashtag #expowest.

This phrase, typically typed at the end of a tweet, is searchable on Twitter.com or your mobile Twitter app and allows you to keep up with all the Twitter conversation at the show. If you don’t use the hashtag, your tweet will not be seen by other Expo West attendees.

2. Attend educational social media sessions.

Meet me and other natural brands that are excelling at Twitter and other social networks, such as newcomer Pinterest. The two sessions—“How to Personalize Your Brand on Social Media” (11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8) and “Boundaries in Social Media: Etiquette Do’s and Don’ts” (12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8)—will be hands-on, interactive and well worth your time. Show up ready to tweet! These sessions are part of the Platinum Education Series.

3. Curious about which exhibitors are actively using Twitter?

Subscribe to this Twitter list created by exhibitor The Bear & The Rat: Cool Treats for Dogs. More than 500 exhibitors on Twitter are included.

4. Follow @NatProdExpo, @newhope360 and @nfm_mag on Twitter.

These New Hope Natural Media Twitter accounts will keep you up-to-date on the latest happenings at the show and give you a peek at some of the most innovative products and interesting education sessions at Expo West 2012.
